"I don't know yet, but my first choice would be to be selling realistic gun props."

Adam Swimming

Took this on one of the rare times I followed him for his swimming lessons. He had already secured the gold level. I guess the main reason why we wanted him to stay on in the program is to have something active to do during the weekend. And also because he enjoys it. At Sengkang Swimming Pool.
His is coach by coach KK, who happend to be Su's ex students when she was teaching in Kranji Secondary.

Scientific

This what he said, which although I know there are various times for the various uses, I still find it innocent and full of hope.

"Teacher said, we cannot use the word "insulator". We should use "bad conductor" or "poor conductor". I thought "insulator" is a nicer word. Maybe I can use it when I am in secondary school where I will be more scientific."

Today is his second last day of his P4 end of year examinations. He is revising his Science now.
He was told to go through the paper with me and I really wish I could capture the dissapointment in his voice. I guess, its more fun with the mother. But then, his mother has to work late.
He told me, yesterday, that he could not finish his math paper 2. Oh dear! At such an early age, and he could not complete the paper, I am deeply worried. But on the other hand, at least I know that he was "on task" during the paper.
He cannot wait for the exams to be over. He has been telling me how his "174" friend will organise a Nerf party and all that fun stuff during the holidays. Oh, to be young again. That will be so nice.

Taking a break

Today is Sunday. Adam is shown here, taking a break. Yup, taking a break on Sunday. He has been busy doing extra exam papers since morning. He is, you can say between papers. Anyway, its almost 7 right now and Su is making fish and chips. Only to realise that we ran out of gas.

That is him, taking a break after doing just 1 section of 1 math paper. But to be fair, we were playing a game together. We were in multiplayer mode. I was playing on the desktop.

He told me that he did some research on how to take care of his baby brother. Imagine that!
Anyway, he had asked for tips from his friends on ways to take care of a baby brother.
And when we asked him what was the best tip, he said that, unanimously among those he asked, he must MAKE SURE that the baby has enough food and SLEEPS as much as possible. Ha ha.

He did asked his friends how they feel (imagine that too) about having a baby brother. One of them said that he was jealous about all the attention that the baby is getting. The other one said that he is fine as his mother who would mind the baby. Adam's response to that was "What kind of a brother is that!!!) So I guess, he has psyche himself up to participate actively when Idris comes along.

This is my champion. Today is his last "holiday", thanks to the PSLE marking days. He should be back in school tomorrow. He spent the last two days with his grandmother and aunt and cousin at Desaru. Seemed he did have a good time. He said that he took the ATV and he led the pack!

That is him doing some revision work. I don't think he likes it. But all medicines are bitter too swallow but I am sure they are good for you.

I don't believe in caning. I think its barbaric. I think the effect, if there is ever one, is temporary. And I can't believe I did it. I caned him. Yes, I caned my son. I am hopeless. I am a bad father. I caned him because I caught him lying. Its his, our first time. I caned him softly. If that helps.

Teacher's Day

Holiday
Teachers in Singapore usually have a day off to celebrate Teacher's day. But somehow or rather, somebody, decided to screw things up and decided to have Teacher's day on the first Friday of September. All would be well if one did not consider that this year's Friday fall on the 1 week term holidays. So you could say that the Teacher's day holiday, something many other countries do not celebrate, is burnt.

Gifts
Adam decided to one up himself this year and created a gift, which is superbly done if I might add, that included corn flakes cookies wrapped in a brown paper bag with his baby picture forming the basis of his Teacher's day card. I find it ever so sweet.

The next picture is a picture of the card, up close.

I personally find that this gift is very creative and best of all, nobody was angry or hurt during the time this was carried out.

This if for my first, my champion, my noisemaker. This blog if for me to note down my observation of him. He is quite a colourful character. Always coming out with unusual responses. I hope to note down every single thing that happened to him or by him so that I won't forget.
